Julia Stiles, last seen on the Gotham stage in the Broadway revival of “Oleanna,” will topline an Off Broadway production of Scott Organ’s play “Phoenix,” running this summer at the Cherry Lane Theater.

Stiles will appear opposite James Wirt, the actor with whom she also appears in Jennifer DeLia’s upcoming film “The First.” DeLia also helms “Phoenix.”

Storyline centers on two people who meet up a month after their one-night stand, as Bruce (Wirt) finds himself compelled to join Sue (Stiles) in Phoenix. Play had its world premiere at the Actors Theater of Louisville’s Humana Festival of New American Plays in 2010.

Julie Pacino, Poverty Row Entertainment, Rian Patrick Durham and nonprofit Rattlestick Playwrights Theater produce “Phoenix” by special arrangement with the Cherry Lane. Production runs July 28-Aug. 23.
