Ferrera, the “Ugly Betty” actress whose previous Off Broadway credits include “Bethany” and “Dog Sees God,” leads a cast that includes Tracee Chimo (“Bad Jews,” “Circle Mirror Transformation”) and Michael Chernus (“The Aliens”), both alums of “Orange Is the New Black,” as well as Austin Lysy.
McNally is having something of a moment in New York right now, with his Tony-nominated play “Mothers and Sons” having recently finished up its run and a starry Broadway revival of his early work “It’s Only a Play” on tap in a fall production that stars Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Megan Mullally and Rupert Grint.
New production of “Lips Together,” directed by Peter DuBois (“Becky Shaw”), arrives in Gotham after a 2010 revival, which had been set to star Mullally, was scuttled amid rumors of conflict among members of the cast and creative team.
“Lips Together, Teeth Apart” begins previews Oct. 7 ahead of a Nov. 5 opening.
