Cannes: Wizart’s ‘Snow Queen 2’ Sold to Poland and Israel (EXCLUSIVE)

Star Films takes theatrical rights to 'Sheep and Wolves' in Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador

Russia’s Wizart Animation has sold 3D stereoscopic toonpic “The Snow Queen 2” to Kino Swiat in Poland and Film House in Israel. Star Films has taken theatrical rights Wizart’s “Sheep and Wolves” in Peru, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador.

“We have seen the amazing quality of animation in Russia and we are excited to be able to show it in Latin America,” said Aman Kumar Kapur from Star Films.

The deals add to the recently announced sale of theatrical rights to both “The Snow Queen” and “The Snow Queen 2” to China’s Flame Node Entertainment.

Suraya has acquired theatrical rights to “The Snow Queen” in Malaysia and the Philippines, while MT Entertainment took distribution rights to “Sheep and Wolves” for Indonesia.

Itafilm has taken theatrical rights in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for “The Snow Queen.” Television rights for the pic in French-speaking Canada have been sold to Phase 4 Films.

“The Snow Queen,” which was co-produced with Bazelevs and Inlay Film, is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale.
