Stephen Hawking Biopic ‘Theory of Everything’ Set for Nov. 7 Launch

Focus Features has set the Stephen Hawking biopic, “Theory of Everything,” for an awards-season U.S. release date of Nov. 7.

The romantic drama, directed by James Marsh (“Man on Wire”), stars Eddie Redmayne as the theoretical physicist opposite Felicity Jones, who plays art student Jane Wilde.

The film portrays their relationship, which led Hawking through personal and scientific challenges as well as breakthroughs. Wilde’s memoir, “Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen,” served as inspiration for the film.

Anthony McCarten, who also wrote the screenplay, Lisa Bruce and Working Title co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce. The cast includes Emily Watson and David Thewlis.

Focus will expand the run on Nov. 14 and 21.
