A24 has set April 4 as the U.S. release date for sci-fi thriller “Under the Skin,” starring Scarlett Johansson,

The distrib acquired the rights in September, a day after its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.  The film, directed by Jonathan Glazer (“Sexy Beast”), stars Johansson as an alien seductress who seeks out hitchhikers.

Nick Wechsler and James Wilson are the producers on “Skin,” based on Michael Faber’s 2001 novel and adapted by Walter Campbell and Glazer. “Skin” also screened at Telluride and Venice.

A24 will launch “Under the Skin” in limited release on its opening weekend, then expand in the following frame.

Disney-Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is the only wide release set for April 4.
