In a pre-American Film Market move, Naomi Watts, Susan Sarandon and Elle Fanning have come on board to star in family drama “Three Generations.”

IM Global will launch international sales at AFM. ICM Partners will handle North American sales.

Producers are Big Beach co-founders Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub with Dorothy Berwin of InFilm Productions. Watts will executive produce along with Leah Holzer and Daniele Melia of Big Beach and Peter Pastorelli.

Gaby Dellal is directing from Nikole Beckwith’s script. Fanning will play a New York City teen transitioning from female to male and Watts will play her mother as she comes to terms with having to raise her only daughter as a son.

Sarandon will portray the mother of Watts’ character, a music manager who shares her brownstone with a lesbian partner.
