Naomi Watts will star in psychological thriller “Shut In” with Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp co-producing with Lava Bear and fully financing.
EuropeaCorp will distribute worldwide and release the film domestically through its partnership with Relativity. EuropaCorp is launching international sales at AFM.
Farren Blackburn will direct from Christina Hodson’s Blacklist screenplay about a woman who discovers a shocking secret about her catatonic son. Shooting will start next year in Europe.
Watts is currently in “Birdman” and “St. Vincent” and will be seen in “Insurgent,” “Sea of Trees” and “While We’re Young.” Blackburn’s directing credits include the TV series “The Fades,” “Luther” and “Doctor Who.”
Hodson also wrote “The Eden Project,” which was recently acquired by Sony.
Tory Metzger, president of Lava Bear, is overseeing the production of “Shut In.”
