MovieTickets.com has partnered with TouchTunes to promote upcoming movies and sell tickets, the companies said Tuesday.
TouchTunes provides jukeboxes for over 60,000 bars and restaurants across North America, which will allow the online ticketer to attract a lot of eyeballs. Customers will be able to learn more about new releases, as well as purchase tickets on the jukeboxes that TouchTunes operates as well as its mobile app.
The diners and imbibers who use TouchTunes are also frequent moviegoers, the company said.
“In talking to our consumers, we know that nearly half go to the movies at least once a month and many decide what movie to see shortly before heading to the theater,” said TouchTunes chief operating officer Jim Wilson in a statement.
The company previously collaborated with 20th Century Fox on promotions for last summer’s “Let’s Be Cops” and has also worked with Lionsgate and Starz.
