Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall will star in the thriller “When The Bough Breaks” for Screen Gems.

Variety reported Oct. 29 that Jon Cassar would direct “Bough” with former New Line toppers Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne producing.

Story follows a professional couple that is unable to conceive a child and decides to hire a young blue collar woman as a surrogate, before she develops a psychotic fixation on the husband. Cassar is best known for his work on the TV series  “24.”

The “Bough”attachment is part of a three-picture deal between Chestnut and Screen Gems. He will also star and produce Screen Gems’ “The Syndicate” with Cliff Dorfman writing and will star in the previously announced Screen Gems thriller “The Perfect Guy” along with Sanaa Lathan and Michael Ealy.

Chestnut is repped by The Gersh Agency and Link Entertainment.
