LONDON — Keira Knightley has joined the cast of Working Title’s 3D epic “Everest.”

Other cast members include Jason Clarke (“The Great Gatsby,” “Zero Dark Thirty”), who plays climber Rob Hall, Josh Brolin (“True Grit,” “No Country for Old Men”), John Hawkes (“Lincoln,” “Martha Marcy May Marlene”), and Jake Gyllenhaal (“Source Code,” “Brokeback Mountain”). Knightley portrays Hall’s wife Jan Arnold.

The movie, which is about rival Everest expeditions caught in a blizzard, shot at Pinewood Studios and CineCitta, and on location in England, Nepal and the Italian Alps.

Baltasar Kormakur (“2 Guns,” “Contraband”) directs the pic, which is in post-production.

Universal Pictures will distribute worldwide.
