Katey Sagal Joins Cast of ‘Pitch Perfect 2’

Katey Sagal has joined the cast of Universal’s “Pitch Perfect 2.”

Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow are set to return along with Hailee Steinfeld. Elizabeth Banks, who was in the first pic, is on board to direct.

Plot details have not been revealed. Kay Cannon, who penned “Pitch Perfect,” is writing the screenplay for the sequel.

Paul Brooks will produce for Gold Circle Films alongside Banks and Max Handelman for their Brownstone Productions shingle. Gold Circle’s Scott Niemeyer will exec produce on “Pitch Perfect 2.” Cannon is co-producing with Gold Circle’s Jeff Levine.

Universal’s co-president of production Peter Cramer, who oversaw production on the first film, will return for “Pitch Perfect 2″ alongside director of development Sara Scott.

The pic bows May 15, 2015. Sagal will play Steinfeld’s mom in the pic.

Sagal is repped by WME and B and B Management, and is best known for her critically acclaimed perf as Gemma Teller in FX’s “Sons of Anarchy.”
