Relativity Media and Media Talent Group have locked in financing for Kate Beckinsale’s thriller “The Disappointments Room” with shooting starting in late August.

Relativity will distribute worldwide. Robbie Brenner is overseeing the film on the studio’s behalf.

Beckinsale and director D.J. Caruso have been attached to the project since last fall when sales began at the American Film Market.

Beckinsale will play a mother who moves her family into a beautiful old rural home with a secret room in the attic. The discovery of a lost key unlocks a host of horrors.

The film is based on an original screenplay by Wentworth Miller, which Caruso re-wrote. Geyer Kosinski is producing, and Tucker Tooley and Demarest Films are exec producing.

Beckinsale is represented by UTA and Media Talent Group. Caruso is represented by CAA and Media Talent Group. Miller is represented by ICM Partners and Gotham Group.
