Jonathan Tropper, David Frankel Team on ‘Priority List’ for Steve Carell (EXCLUSIVE)

Though the film doesn’t bow till next month, Warner Bros. is looking to stay in business with “This Is Where I Leave You” author-screenwriter Jonathan Tropper and has attached him to pen the Steve Carell film “The Priority List.”

“The Devil Wears Prada” helmer David Frankel is also in negotiations to direct with Carell producing through his Carousel Productions along with Charlie Hartsock and Vance DeGeneres.

Pic is based on the David Menasche book about a terminally ill teacher who travels the world to reconnect with hundreds of his students.

Andrew Fischel and Jon Gonda will oversee for the studio.

The UTA-repped Tropper is also adapting “One Last Thing Before I Go” for Paramount and Bad Robot.

Frankel, who is repped by WME, last directed “One Chance” starring James Corbin and recently came on to “Departure” for Good Universe.

Carell is repped by WME and Media Four and can be seen next in Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.”
