Newcomer Joseph Morgan has landed one of the lead roles opposite “Mud” actor Tye Sheridan in Paramount’s “Scouts Vs. Zombies.”

Christopher Landon is directing the horror comedy.

On the eve of their last camp out, three scouts discover the true meaning of friendship when they attempt to save their town from a zombie outbreak. Morgan will play the nerd in the group who is is secure in his comfort zone, but awkward to the rest of the world.

Todd Garner, Andy Fickman, Betsy Sullenger and Bryan Brucks are producing.

Production is set to start in May.

The role marks Morgan first major acting job. He is repped by CESD.
