Jennifer Connelly has joined Ewan McGregor in Lakeshore’s upcoming “American Pastoral,”

Phillip Noyce is directing the project based on Phillip Roth’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel. Connelly will play Dawn, the wife of McGregor’s Swede Levov character.

Noyce is directing from John Romano’s screenplay with filming scheduled for March in Pittsburgh, Pa. Lakeshore toppers Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing.

The story follows a legendary high school athlete, who grows up to marry a former beauty queen and inherits his father’s business. His seemingly perfect life shatters when his daughter rebels by becoming a revolutionary and commits a deadly act of political terrorism during the Vietnam War.

McGregor came on board the project in June. Lakeshore has been attempting to adapt “American Pastoral” since 2003.

Connelly recently starred in “Noah” and will next be seen in “Aloft” and “Shelter,” directed by her husband, Paul Bettany.

Connelly is represented by CAA and Risa Shapiro at Schiff Company.
