James Badge Dale In Talks to Star In Legendary’s ‘Spectral’

After fighting zombies in “World War Z,” James Badge Dale may be ready to battle ghosts in Legendary Entertainment’s “Spectral.” The actor is currently in talks to star in the supernatural thriller directed by Nic Mathieu, sources confirm.

Described as a supernatural “Black Hawk Down,” “Spectral” was recently rewritten by scribe John Gatins. George Nolfi wrote the original script.

Jillian Share and Alex Hedlund are overseeing the movie for Legendary, which Universal will distribute.

Legendary’s Thomas Tull is very high on the project, according to sources, and sees it as a franchise and has an eye at getting this off the ground ever since they acquired the spec from an Fried.

Badge Dale, who is repped by CAA, MJ Management, and attorney Geoff Oblath, has a handful of films awaiting release this year including “Blackbird,” “A Relative Stranger” and “Miss Meadows.”
