The Weinstein Company is teaming with Will Ferrell’s Gloria Sanchez Prods. on April Prosser’s comedy “Plus One.”

The story centers on a woman who comes out of a long-term relationship only to realize that all her friends have married off — leaving her with an oversharing wild card as the only option for a wing woman.

“We’re thrilled to be on board with this hilarious and smart film by talented up-and-comer April Prosser,” said Harvey Weinstein. “Her script drew one of the strongest responses from our team that I’ve seen in a while.”

Gloria Sanchez Prods., a division of Gary Sanchez Prods., is dedicated to female-driven  projects and will produce with Jessica Elbaum, Ferrell and Adam McKay taking lead.

Prosser’s screenplay “The One That Got Away” was named to the 2012 Black List and is being produced by Mason Novick and directed by Ari Sandel at Amazon Studios.

David Glasser and Adrian Lopez negotiated the deal for “Plus One” on behalf of TWC. Prosser is repped by UTA, Kaplan/Perrone, and Ziffren Brittenham.
