Seeking to start energizing the Godzilla fanbase, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have unveiled plans for a comicbook prequel to their upcoming “Godzilla” tentpole movie.
Director Gareth Edwards made the announcement about “Godzilla: Awakening.” The comicbook is co-written by Greg Borenstein and screenwriter on the movie Max Borenstein and set several decades before the events in the film.
The book will be released May 7, nine days before the feature film’s release.
