“Fast and Furious” director Justin Lin is heading for “Times Square,” signing for the crime thriller project at Focus Features.
Producers for “Times Square” are Chernin Entertainment, Perfect Storm and Far Hills Pictures. Lin and Troy Craig Poon are producing for Perfect Storm.
The script by Taylor Materne and Jake Rubin was named on the 2012 Black List.
The story is set amidst the transformation of Times Square from a seedy neighborhood to the current commercialized area, where a young man’s loyalties are divided between his neighborhood boss who raised him and the ex-cop who swore to protect him.
Lin is currently directing “Scorpion” for CBS and is attached for the next Bourne film for Universal.
Materne and Rubin are represented by WME, Oasis Media Group and lawyer Howard Abramson. Lin is repped by CAA, Cinetic Management and Sloss Eckhouse Law Co.
