The 6th annual Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival will be held March 22 and 23 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

The festival celebrates and promotes Iranian art and culture as part of Nowruz, the Persian/Iranian New Year, observance.

Thesps Nazanin Boniadi, who has appeared on ABC’s “Scandal” and has recently been named a regular on Showtime’s “Homeland,” and Navid Negahban, also a “Homeland” star, are among the jurors for the fest. Other jurors are Farhang Foundation board member Mark Amin, Dr. Hamid Naficy, Hassan Ildari, Farhad Mohit and Mahnaz Newman.

The six finalists vying for honors were culled from more than 110 submissions from around the world. The short films are “Aghaye Past” (Canada), “Brain of Terror” (U.S.), “Bride of Rain” (Iran), “K-von Presents: A Splash of Nowruz” (U.S.), “Lady With Flower-Hair” (Iran) and “Legend of Gheysar” (U.S.).

The awards ceremony and reception will be held Saturday, March 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for LACMA members and $45 for non-members. On Sunday, March 23, the Farhang Foundation will host Persian New Year events at the LACMA campus, open to the public.
