Erin Moriarty to Co-Star With Mel Gibson in ‘Blood Father’ (EXCLUSIVE)

True Detective” actress Erin Moriarty is set to co-star with Mel Gibson in the thriller “Blood Father.”

Jean-Francois Richet is helming with “The Town” scribe Peter Craig penning the script.

In the vein of “Taken,” the story follows an ex-con who reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her.

Pic will be produced by Why Not Productions and Chris Briggs. Production begins next month in New Mexico.

Best known for her break-out perf as Woody Harrelson’s daughter in HBO’s “True Detective,” Moriarty is currently filming the New Line thriller “Crawlspace.” Other credits include “The Kings of Summer” and “The Watch.”

She is repped by ICM Partners, 3 Arts, Jordan and Gill & Dornbaum Talent Agency and Peikoff Legal.
