The Franco brothers, James and David, will star in “The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room,” a drama about Tommy Wiseau’s cult favorite “The Room.”
Dave Franco confirmed during a Los Angeles screening of “The Room” that he would take on the role of actor Greg Sestero, who co-wrote the behind-the-scenes book that will serve as the basis for the film.
James Franco, who is starring as Wiseau along with directing and producing, posted a photo of his brother and Wiseau on his Instagram account with the caption “DAVY FRANCO and TOMMY WEISEAU!!!!! “The Disaster Artist” COMING SOON!!!!”

Sestero’s book, published in October, was acquired earlier this year by Seth Rogen’s production company Point Grey and James Franco’s Rabbit Bandini Prods.
Rabbit Bandini producer Vince Jolivette told Variety that shooting will start late this year or early next year.
Wiseau self-distributed “The Room” in 2003, evoking an initial critical response that characterized it as one of the worst films ever made. Despite its technical and narrative flaws, the tale of a love triangle gradually developed a cult following.
Dave Franco currently stars opposite Rogen in “Neighbors.”
