Daniele Watts (“Braddock and Jackson”) and Max Burkholder (“Parenthood”) are starring in an untitled coming-of-age independent comedy, shooting this month in Los Angeles.

The film is written and directed by Morgan Krantz, whose credits include viral comedy series “Neurotica” and “The  Cyclist,” a short film starring Shannyn Sossamon. Internet rapper Kitty Pryde will co-star.

Producers are Eric Pumphrey and Luke Baybak.

Watts has been working with Krantz over the past year to develop the story, which follows a romance between a disgruntled teenage boy (Burkholder) and his babysitter, played by Watts. Krantz describes the project as similar to “The Ice Storm” or “The Squid in the Whale” in tone.

Watts’ credits include “Django Unchained” and Burkholder starred in “The Purge.”
