Veteran post-production exec and technologist Curt Behlmer has ankled Technicolor to join Dolby, where he will be senior vice president of content solutions and industry relations.
Behlmer had most recently been chief technology officer for Technicolor Entertainment Services. At Dolby, he will report to Doug Darrow, Dolby’s senior vice president, cinema.
In his new position, Behlmer will be an evangelist for Dolby Atmos and other Dolby tech initiatives and will be help ensure they fit into production workflows.
Behlmer is a leader in post-production and technology in Hollywood. He is a multi-term governor of the AMPAS sound branch, a fellow for SMPTE, president of the Inter-Society for the Enhancement of Cinema Presentation, and a member of the Hollywood Post Alliance. At Technicolor he oversaw the creation of the new post-production sound facility on the Paramount lot.
Behlmer’s credits include positions at Warner Bros., Soundelux Entertainment Group, Digital Cinema Ventures, Ryder Sound Services, and Lionsgate.
