‘Better Off Dead’ Director to Helm Teen Comedy ‘Multiplexing’

Savage Steve Holland has come on board  to direct “Multiplexing,” revisiting the teen comedy arena of  his 1980s cult films “Better Off Dead…” and “One Crazy Summer.”

Producers are Wayne 6 Entertainment’s Mark Heidelberger, Mike Massotto and David Crump with Richard Salvatore (“The Big Wedding”) and David E Ornston. A summer shoot is planned.

Crump penned the script, which tracks a ragtag group of small town teens who get the surprise of a lifetime when the studio behind a summer tentpole release decides to premiere its film at their hometown multiplex.

Holland received a Directors Guild of America nomination last year for “Big Time Movie” for Nickelodeon. He is repped by APA and Ziffren Brittenham.

Paradigm will rep the film and handle domestic sales.
