Relativity Studios has acquired U.S. distribution rights to action-thriller “Autobahn” starring Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley.

Eran Creevy (“Welcome to the Punch”) directed from a script he co-wrote with F. Scott Frazier about a desperate man (Hoult) who schemes to pull a drug heist on an eccentric gangster (Kingsley) in order to pay for his girlfriend’s medical emergency.

IM Global and China’s DMG Entertainment financed the film with additional financing provided by Sycamore Pictures and Ingenious Media. Producers are Joel Silver, Ben Pugh and Rory Aitken of 42, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik and Daniel Hetzer of Germany’s Action Concept.

IM Global is selling international rights at the American Film Market this week. CAA is representing domestic rights.

The deal was brokered by IM Global topper Stuart Ford and Deborah Zipser.

“Relativity is the perfect home for this action-packed, adrenaline-filled international thriller and we’re delighted at their enthusiasm for ‘Autobahn,'” said Ford.

The film was shot in Germany with subsidies from DFFF, the German Federal Film Fund, and NRW, the North Rhine-Westphalia funding entity.
