AFM: TrustNordisk Pre-Sells ‘A Man Called Ove’

PARIS– TrustNordisk has pre-sold “A Man Called Ove,” Hannes Holm’s feel-good dramedy, to Germany and Benelux in the run-up to the AFM.

Concorde Filmverleih will release the movie in Germany, while September Film Distribution will distribute it in Benelux. Both deals were negotiated by Susan Wendt, TrustNordisk’s head of sales.

Based on  Fredrik Backman’s bestselling book, “A Man Called Ove” centers around a grumpy old man who has given up on everyone including himself. But his life gets turned upside down when a new family moves in next door.

The book has been a huge hit since being released in Germany in August.

“We are so proud of representing this warm and quirky dramedy. Since we announced presales a couple of weeks ago, the interest from distributors have been enormous and with the already closed deals for Germany and Benelux, we have high expectations for its international potential and look forward to presenting this film as part of our presales-slate at the upcoming AFM”, says Rikke Ennis, TrustNordisk’s CEO.

Pic is produced by Annica Bellander for Tre Vänner in co-operation with Film i Väst, SVT, Nordisk Film with support from The Swedish Film Institute and Nordsvensk Filmunderhållning.
