108 Media has acquired the worldwide rights to the British documentary “The Creeping Garden” which shows the world of plasmodial slime mould through time-lapse photography.
“Garden” is directed and produced by Tim Grabham and Jasper Sharp. 108 Media has slated distribution in North America for the first quarter of 2015.
The documentary has screened at Fantasia Fest and will be playing at SpectreFest and the Imagine Science Film Festival this month.
The plasmodial slime mould (myxomycetes) is not a plant, animal or fungi. It thrives in moist, cool and shady environments. It reproduces using spores and develops through several distinct phases throughout its life-cycle.
“We are thrilled that 108 has taken the slimy plunge into the creeping garden and that we can work together in introducing the world to the wonderful plasmodial slime mould,” the filmmakers said.
108 Media’s upcoming releases include the documentary “The Boy From Geita,” directed by Vic Sarin of Sepia Films, along with John Leguizamo’s anti-romantic comedy “Fugly!”
