PARIS — Universal has picked up French scribe/helmer Delphine de Vigan’s romantic comedy “Best in Bed” (“A coup sur”) for distribution in North America, Latin America and France.

Repped by Rezo, pic will world preem at UniFrance’s Rendez-vous mini-mart on Jan. 11. Universal will release the pic in Gaul on Jan. 15.

A feature debut, “Best” toplines Laurence Arne (“F.B.I. Frog Butthead Investigators”) as a pretty and seemingly self-assured young woman who starts believing  she’s bad in bed after two failed one-night stands and embarks on a mission to become the best lay in town.

Arne stars opposite Eric Elmosino (“Gainsbourg”), Valerie Bonneton (“Little White Lies”)  and Julia Faure (“Camille Rewinds”). Epithete Films produced.

De Vigan is a popular author who has written such novels as “No and Me,” “Underground Time” and “Nothing Holds Back the Night.” She made her screenwriting debut with Gilles Legrand’s “You Will Be My Son.”

“Best” belongs to the crop of well-polished, high-concept romantic comedies in the vein of Pascal Chaumeil’s “Heartbreaker,” which was released in France by Universal in 2010 and turned out to be a B.O. hit.

Rezo’s sales team — led by Laurent Danielou and Sebastien Chesneau — will shop the pic at the UniFrance RDV.

Other new titles on Rezo’s Rendez-vous slate include Catherine Castel’s comedy “Darling Trap” with Audrey Fleurot (“The Intouchables”), Olivier Marchal (“A Gang Story”) and Zabou Breitman (“On the Other Side of the Tracks”). La Mouche du Coche Films produced with Iris Prods. and Iris Films. Pic centers on a jealous woman who puts her boyfriend’s faithfulness to test during a trip to a Paradise island.

Rezo will host the world premiere of “Trap” on Jan. 11.

At the Rendez-vous, Rezo will also screen and pursue sales on Catherine Breillat’s “Abuse of Weakness” with Isabelle Huppert and Kool Shen. The autobiographical drama has played in over 20 festivals, including Toronto, New York and London. Flach Film Prod. and Iris Films produced.
