TrustNordisk has closed major European sales on Susanne Bier’s “A Second Chance” following its European premiere at San Sebastian.
The Zentropa-produced drama, which opened at Toronto, was acquired for France (KMBO) and the U.K. (Vertigo).
Pic, which was penned by Anders Thomas Jensen, has now sold nearly worldwide.
“The universal themes in Susanne Bier’s films connect with distributors and audiences all over the world and ‘A Second Chance’ is no exception. With the above sales and ongoing negotiations in US, we are close to sold out on this extraordinary film,” said TrustNordisk CEO Rikke Ennis.
Starring Nikolaj Coster Waldau (“Games of Thrones”), Ulrich Thomsen (“Banshee”), Nikolaj Lie Kaas (“Child 44”) and Maria Bonnevie (“The Shamer’s Daughter”).
Sisse Graum Jørgensen produced for Zentropa Entertainments34, in co-production with Zentropa International Sweden, FilmFyn and Film i Väst.
Nordisk Film Distribution will release the movie on Jan. 15 in Scandinavia.
Bier’s recent credits include “Serena” with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
