BYDGOSZCZ, Poland – European Shooting Stars, an event at the Berlin Film Festival that helped launch the careers of “James Bond” star Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Daniel Bruhl, has selected the jury for next year’s actors’ showcase.

Previous Shooting Stars, which spotlights rising European thesps, have included “The Great Gatsby’s” Carey Mulligan, “Testament of Youth’s” Alicia Vikander and “Birdman’s” Andrea Riseborough.

The 2015 jury includes casting director Nathalie Cheron, whose credits include Luc Besson’s Scarlett Johansson starrer “Lucy,” and director Malgorzata Szumowska, whose film “In the Name Of” won the Teddy Award at the Berlin film fest last year. The other members are Danijel Hocevar, the producer of Sundance winning pic “Circles,” actress Eva Rose, and Empire magazine journalist Damon Wise.

The 23 organizations that form European Film Promotion, the event’s organizer, have nominated actors from their countries, from which the jury will select 10 finalists. Those 10 will be showcased to the international film community at the Berlin film festival, which runs Feb. 5-15. The actors will meet casting directors, talent agents, press and filmmakers. The highlight of the three-day-event will be the awards ceremony.
