LONDON — Bertrand Bonello’s biographical drama “Saint Laurent,” which France submitted as its entry in the Oscars’ foreign-language film category, will have its Russian premiere at the St. Petersburg Intl. Media Forum.
The drama, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, centers on fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent’s life from 1967 to 1977, a time when he was at the peak of his career. Pic stars Gaspard Ulliel.
Bonello commented: “Yves Saint Laurent was hungry for sex, alcohol and fame. He was a fantastic character, full of creative madness. His entire existence was an escape from normality. The world around him became a glamorous backdrop for his incredible life.”
The Media Forum, which runs Oct. 1-10, is organized by Roskino with the support of the government of St. Petersburg.
