Picked up by Relativity Media for North America at the American Film Market, “Desert Dancer,” with Freida Pinto, has further consolidated its sales credentials licensing three of the biggest markets out: Germany (Senator), Latin America (Paris Filmes) and Russia and CIS territories (Exponenta-Film).

“Dancer” screens Friday in Berlin.

Directed by Richard Raymond, and sold by Madrid-based 6 Sales, “Dancer,” has also closed with Wild Bunch for Benelux, Italia Film for the Middle East, Lev Cinema for Israel, Monolith Films for Poland and Captive Entertainment for worldwide airlines.

Starring Reece Ritchie in the titular role and Tom Cullen (“Downton Abbey”), “Desert Dancer” tells the true story of Iran’s Afshin Ghaffarian who hacked into the banned YouTube to teach himself to dance watching musicvids of Michael Jackson, Bob Fosse and Pina Bausch.
