YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Art Basel Miami begins its decadent swing today so let’s get on board and head on down to the Sunshine State where we’ll pick up on the lady property gossip at the New York Post’s bit about Colombian-born pop superstar Shakira whisper listing her Miami Beach mansion for about $13 million.

Actually and as it turns out, this is hardly the first time the hip-swiveling 10-time Grammy winner, who sat in the judges chair for the fourth and sixth seasons of “The Voice” and whom Forbes ranked as the 58th most powerful woman in the world earlier this year, has attempted to dump her walled and gated residence on celebrity-lined North Bay Road. Indeed, it’s been a fairly long, fruitless and arduous real estate slog. In early 2103 Shakira engaged the services of realtor/reality television denizen Katrina Campins, who first set the property out for lease at $45,000 per month before listing it for sale on the open market in June at $14.95 million.

In the first days of 2014 the asking price plummeted to $12.99 million. With no takers still, the property was delisted in mid-February only to reappear in early March with a familiar asking price of $12.99 million but a different high-profile real estate agent at a competing agency. Alas, the second agent was canned within two weeks — and the property again taken off the open market — after saucy South Florida gossip José Lambiet of Gossip Extra exposed the agent’s shady connections to a Colombian drug cartel. ¡Uh-oh, escándalo! Anyhoo…

Property records and other online documentation show the uni-named singer (née Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoli) purchased the property in September 2001 for $3.38 million and rebuilt the original, circa 1951 residence into a suped-up, 8,355-square-foot contemporary with six bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms and an aluminum or maybe stainless steel driveway gate that slides open to a compact motor court and two-bay garage framed by riotous if well-trimmed Bougainvillea.

Listing photographs we managed to scare up off the Internet show honey blonde wide-plank wood floors run throughout the living and entertaining spaces that include an airy combination living and dining room with fireplace and bay view as well as a sleek eat-in kitchen custom fitted with high-gloss white cabinetry and integrated appliances. A spacious, L-shaped family room accommodates a television watching area with lots of floating bookshelves, a pool table in the middle and, in a window lined bay nearest the water, what appears to be hookah lounge. Somewhere in the house there’s a sizable fitness room with a couple of scary-looking exercise contraptions and a half-dozen medicine balls.

The main floor rooms wrap around and open through a rhythmic series of French doors to a somewhat wee backyard with deck-encircled swimming pool and an open air dining pavilion with built-in bar space. The decking gives way to a thin strip of lawn at the bulk headed water’s edge, and a private dock provides expansive views of Biscayne Bay and the rapidly expanding Miami skyline.

In other Miami Beach celebrity real estate news: David and Victoria Beckham may be interested in a South Florida vacation house and — so the scuttlebutt goes — he recently tooka look-see at a waterfront mansion on Key Biscayne that back in September 2013 Your Mama heard British boy bander Harry Styles toured. Birds of a feather and all that, right?
