YouTube stars Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart are getting ready to hit the road and uncover America’s best-kept secrets in their new series “#HeyUSA,” Helbig announced during her keynote at the Vidcon in Anaheim.

“#HeyUSA” will follow the comedy duo as they visit a city per week, guided by the true experts: the locals. Helbig and Hart, real-life best friends, will rely on fan tweets and suggestions to determine where to go and what they do in each locale. Fans will be able to watch the hosts’ adventure in three weekly videos that piece together the real-time moments that they share via Twitter, Instagram and Vine.

“This show is so exciting and innovative. Not only do I get to travel the US with my best friend, I get to experience places and things I wouldn’t have seen had it not been for the help of our audience,” said Helbig in a statement.

Premiering July 1 on YouTube, “#HeyUSA” was created by Billy Parks and Nick Shore of Astronauts Wanted, the transmedia production company led by former MTV Networks CEO Judy McGrath. Parks and Shore are executive producing the series with Ken Treusch (Bleecker Street Entertainment).

Parks previously worked on a similar transmedia project when he worked at Chernin Group, “#Summerbreak,” which began its second season earlier this week.

Throughout their trip the two will meet up with influencers and “in-the-know” locals who can tap into the heart and soul of their hometown. Select superfans may even be surprised with a special visit from them – taking the fan engagement factor to a new level.

Helbig is a comedian, actress, author, and YouTube personality best known for her Web series “itsGrace” – a comedic, one-woman talk-show-slash-confessional, which has gained 1.7 million subscribers since launching in January. Hart is also a comedic actress, writer, and performer. Hart became a YouTube star with her show “You Deserve a Drink.”
