Twitter has expanded the role of Kirstine Stewart, previously head of media partnerships for Canada, to encompass all of North America.

She reports to Katie Jacobs Stanton, VP of global media, who took over after Twitter media chief Chloe Sladden exited in June. Previously, Stanton headed international market development.

Stanton announced Stewart’s appointment late Thursday in a tweet:

Twitter’s media team, under Stanton, is charged with developing deals with TV, sports and music partners to promote their use of the social site. Stanton reports to Gabriel Stricker, head of marketing, communications and media at Twitter, who recently took up new responsibilities in the wake of the departure of COO Ali Rowghani (who left the same day as Sladden).

Prior to joining Twitter in April 2013, Stewart was EVP for English services at CBC-Radio Canada.
