POLL: Would You Buy an Amazon 3D Smartphone?

Amazon.com has teased a June 18 announcement in its hometown of Seattle, where the e-retailer is expected to unveil a 3D-capable smartphone to challenge Apple’s iPhone and Samsung Electronics’ Android devices, among others.

But it’s not clear how successful Amazon will really be in punching into the gigantic smartphone market, which reached nearly $340 billion in 2013 sales, according to IDC. It’s worth noting the e-commerce juggernaut saw its share of the tablet market with the Kindle Fire shrink in Q4 2013.

The devil’s in the details, and the particulars about Amazon’s smartphone are unconfirmed at this point. The device will ship by the end of September and will feature eye-tracking tech that displays certain images in 3D, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
