Oprah.com, the digital platform for Oprah Winfrey’s multiple content brands, signed a deal with the TheSkimm, a startup that publishes a femme-focused daily email newsletter, for six weekly video episodes covering top-trending topics.

The “Things to Know” series, which debuted Wednesday, is hosted by TheSkimm’s co-founders, Carly Zakin (pictured above, left) and Danielle Weisberg (above right). The video content will be available exclusively via Oprah.com and the OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s dedicated YouTube channel at YouTube.com/own. Additionally, the partnership will feature an interactive mid-term election guide and a vacation sweepstakes promo.

“TheSkimm is a relevant, fresh force in the world right now, and we believe both of our audiences will benefit from this collaboration,” said Glenn Kaino, OWN’s SVP of digital. “This project exposes our work to younger viewers, expanding our presence, while connecting our existing audience to this fast-growing community.”

Weisberg and Zakin, former NBC News producers, founded TheSkimm in 2012 and now have more than 500,000 newsletter subscribers.

“We grew up watching Oprah and have been inspired by everything she has done to pave the way for young women entrepreneurs,” they said in a statement. “When Oprah came calling we knew we had to go with the best in the business.”

Oprah.com hosts content from OWN, O: The Oprah Magazine, as well as webseries “#OWNShow” and “Who Am I” and OWN and Harpo Studios’ online learning programs. The pact with TheSkimm follows other partnerships Oprah.com has formed with The Huffington Post, YouTube Space LA and Flipboard.
