IAC, the Internet-media conglomerate controlled by Barry Diller, appointed NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment chairman Bonnie Hammer to its board.
Hammer’s appointment to the IAC board was effective Sept. 12. Hammer oversees NBCU’s entire cable entertainment portfolio including USA, Syfy, E, Bravo, Oxygen, Esquire Network, Sprout, Chiller and Cloo, as well as production entities Universal Cable Productions (UCP) and Wilshire Studios.
“Bonnie Hammer is a great addition to the IAC board — she’s a superb businesswoman, programmer and brand builder — all talents our board discussions will benefit from,” Diller, IAC’s chairman and senior executive, said in a statement.
Hammer has served on the boards of ShopNBC, a 24-hour TV shopping network, the International Radio and Television Society (IRTS) and the Ad Council. She currently serves on the strategic planning committee for Boston University’s College of Communication.
NYC-based IAC’s 150 brands and products include Ask.com, About.com, Match.com, HomeAdvisor and Vimeo.
