LONDON — John Malone’s international cable company Liberty Global is negotiating to acquire a 50% stake in German video-on-demand service Maxdome, according to Handelsblatt newspaper Friday, citing industry sources.

Maxdome reported a Euro 12,000 ($15,000) loss last year. It offers more than 60,000 titles.

The VOD market in Germany is expected to grow to $599 million by 2018, up from $247 million last year, according to Bundesverband Audiovisuelle Medien.
