Videogame mega-franchise “Halo” is getting the creative juices flowing over at Xbox Entertainment Studios, which disclosed a new project Wednesday.
In addition to a previously announced series with executive producer Steven Spielberg, the programming arm for Microsoft’s console is teaming with 343 Entertainment and Scott Free TV for a separate, more modestly budgeted iteration said to be in the vein of the “Halo: Forward Unto Dawn” short-form episodes, which originated on Xbox before getting distribution on other digital platforms.
A rep for XES declined comment.
The project will be executive produced by Ridley Scott and Scott Free TV president David Zucker. Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (“Battlestar Galactica”) will direct.
