Google Play Offers Free Download of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Soundtrack for One Day

The colorful soundtrack to “Guardians of the Galaxy” is easily one of the most memorable parts of the film — who can forget Peter Quill’s routine to “Come and Get Your Love”? — and for one day only, fans can nab the soundtrack to Marvel blockbuster for free.

On Wednesday, “Awesome Mix, Vol. 1,” which spent two weeks at the top of the album charts in August, is available for free download on Google Play. The offer is currently limited to the U.S. only.

Among the songs are David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream,” The Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back,” Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” The Runaways’ “Cherry Bomb” and the song that was in the background of most of the movie’s trailers, Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling.”

It also includes what director James Gunn calls “Awesome Mix, Vol. Zero,” a collection of tracks he compiled on set. That includes songs from Andrew W.K., Mindless Self Indulgence, The Old 97’s and more.
