FX Networks has chosen the Xbox One to premiere the first episode of its new animated comedy “Chozen” before its Jan. 13 debut on the cable channel.

The pilot episode is available now to stream on the FXNOW app on the video game console to subscribers of Microsoft’s Xbox Live service.

The cable channel turned to Xbox as a way to spotlight the app that streams its lineup of series and movies, but also because the console is owned by the same demo FX is looking to reach with the show.

With that in mind, and Xbox looking to promote its next-generation console as an entertainment hub in the home, “Chozen” will likely be the first of many exclusive premieres of new shows or content to be promoted on the device.

“Chozen” revolves around a gay white rapper fresh out of prison who aims to claim his rightful position as the world’s top rap artist.

Bobby Moynihan, Michael Peña, Hannibal Buress, Nick Swardson, Cliff “Method Man” Smith and Kathryn Hahn voice characters in the series created by Grant Dekernion and produced by FX Prods.
