‘Dallas’ Star Jesse Metcalfe Leads Cast in Legendary’s ‘Dead Rising’ Movie for Crackle

Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, Virginia Madsen and Dennis Haysbert will star in “Dead Rising: Watchtower,” the feature-length film that Legendary Digital Media is producing that will debut first on Sony’s entertainment network Crackle.

The movie, based on Capcom’s videogame franchise, will start lensing Sept. 30 in Vancouver, under the helm of “Leprechaun: Origins” director Zach Lipovsky.

The 90-minute movie is Legendary’s first film produced exclusively for a digital platform.

Tim Carter penned the script that revolves around a zombie outbreak, and the pursuit of the root of the epidemic when a government vaccine fails to stop the infection.

Crackle will get the rights to release “Dead Rising: Watchtower” in the U.S., with the film then moving onto SVOD, VOD, DVD and TV. Project was first announced this summer.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura (the “Transformers” and “G.I. Joe” franchises) serves as executive producer.

The “Dead Rising” games have sold over 7.6 million copies worldwide.
