Comic-Con: Marvel to Launch ‘Contest of Champions’ Mobile Game

Marvel has paired up with Kabam to produce “Contest of Champions” as a mobile game that will be released through app stores this fall.

In the game, players fight their way through iconic locations from the Marvel Universe and collect their favorite Marvel super heroes and villains such as Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man and Thor to build their ultimate team of champions. Further plot details are being kept under wraps.

“Contest of Champions,” written by comicbook scribe Sam Humphries (Marvel’s “John Carter: The Gods of Mars” series), was announced at the company’s video games panel at Comic-Con in San Diego.

Kabam has produced hit games for Paramount, Warner Bros., MGM and Universal based on “The Godfather,” “Hobbit” and “Fast & Furious” franchises. It’s also working with Lionsgate on a “Hunger Games” title, and WB on a “Mad Max” game.
