Daryl Hannah, “Lost” star Naveen Andrews and “Stargate Universe” alum Brian J. Smith are among the 14 actors cast in Netflix’s upcoming original show “Sense8,” Variety has confirmed.
The sci-fi drama is the first TV project from “Matrix” writers-directors-exec producers Andy and Lana Wachowski. “Babylon 5” creator J. Michael Straczynski is also on board.
The 10-episode series follows eight people around the world who become telepathically linked following a tragic death.
The eight central characters will be played by Smith, Tuppence Middleton, who will appear in the Wachowskis’ upcoming film “Jupiter Ascending,” “The Maze Runner” actor Aml Ameen, South Korean actress Doona Bae, German actor Max Riemelt, Indian actress Tena Desae, and American actor Miguel Silvestri and actress Jamie Clayton.
“Doctor Who” actress Freema Agyeman, “Les Miserables” actor Terrence Mann, and Mexican actors Alfonso Herrera and Erendira Ibarra round out the 14-member international cast.
The series is set to premiere on the streaming site in 2015. The “global tale of minds linked and souls hunted” will film in nine locations: Chicago, San Francisco, London, Iceland, Seoul, Mumbai, Berlin, Mexico City and Nairobi.
