As part of the broader restructuring of the Fox Network Group’s business and legal affairs division that started in June, it was announced today that Clara K. Kim has joined the company as EVP of business and legal affairs for National Geographic Channels and National Geographic Channels International.

She will report to FNG EVP and general counsel Rita Tuzon and will be based in National Geographic’s Washington, D.C. office. Her duties include overseeing all business and legal affairs pertaining to National Geographic Channels’ domestic and international businesses.

“Finding an experienced business and legal affairs executive who is not only adept at production matters but who also understands distribution negotiations, global regulatory issues, mergers and acquisitions and broadcast standards is no easy feat,” Tuzon said. “Clara is a rare find who will be a key player for us and we’re delighted she will be joining our team.”

Kim was previously general counsel and co-founder of Multi-Verse Media, LLC, which produced original television and digital programming content directed at multicultural and niche audiences. She has also held positions at Discovery Communications and at Viacom Inc.’s Spike TV, Nickelodeon, MTV Networks International and Showtime Networks.
