E.L. James, Barbara Broccoli Among Guests at Gala Celebrating Diversity in London

LONDON — “50 Shades of Grey” author E.L. James and James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli will be among the guests at a gala event celebrating diversity in the British film and television industry tomorrow.

The evening will include an auction that will be used to enable more students from diverse backgrounds to study at the National Film and Television School, which is E.L. James’ alma mater.

Artist Damien Hirst has donated an exclusive print, “Benevolence 2007,” which is a silk screen on paper print with diamond dust; Michael G. Wilson and Broccoli’s Eon Prods. has given the Tom Ford suit worn by Daniel Craig in “Skyfall”; and Universal Pictures and E.L. James have donated tickets to the L.A premiere of “50 Shades of Grey,” three nights at the Chateau Marmont Hotel, Virgin Atlantic flights and copies of the erotic romance novel signed by the film’s cast.

Other gifts include the chance to voice a character in the Xbox vidgame “Fable Legends,” donated by Microsoft Studios, and to have a walk-on part in the BBC television adaptation of J.K Rowling’s novel “The Casual Vacancy,” which is donated by Neil Blair, Paul Trijbits and Jessica Cameron-Lewis.

Guests include directors Gurinder Chadha, Sarah Gavron and Beeban Kidron, actor Adrian Lester, screenwriter Abi Morgan, and producers Duncan Kenworthy and Andy Harries.

Actor Lenny Henry will introduce the gala, which is chaired by Floella Benjamin, and sponsored by Ingenious Media and Microsoft.
