Emmy Award-winning producer Linda Bell Blue will receive this year’s Intl. Cinematographers Guild president’s award on Feb. 28 at the ICG 51st annual Publicists Luncheon.
Bell Blue, executive producer of “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider,” will be recognized for revolutionizing the field of entertainment news, particularly the ways in which news is produced and consumed.
After 19 years as a producer on “ET,” Bell Blue was named president of Entertainment Tonight Studios in November.
“Linda Bell Blue and her colleagues have always supported and appreciated the work that our publicists do,” Steven Poster, ASC ICG president, said in a statement. “Now it’s our turn to show our appreciation of the work she does.”
“Over her nearly two decades at ‘ET,’ she kept the show the gold standard for celebrity news,” added awards committee chairman Henri Bollinger. “These high standards established a close bond between the show’s production staff and entertainment publicists.”
Before arriving at “ET,” Bell Blue exec produced “Hard Copy” and KCBS-TV news in Los Angeles. She was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in 2009, making her the first executive producer of an entertainment newsmagazine to receive this distinction.
Other honorees at the luncheon, to be held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, include Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger, co-chairs of Lionsgate; “Grey’s Anatomy” producer Shonda Rhimes; and Jerry Lewis.
