Over the years, New York has hosted a slew of high-profile productions, including “The Dark Knight Rises,” “The Avengers,” “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Benefits have been significant. “Dark Knight” alone hired 8,600 locals for cast and crew, and spent more than $14 million in the real-life Gotham.

This summer, New York City announced its biggest-ever TV project, a $200 million, 60-episode series for Netflix, based on Marvel characters.

The Empire State lures bizzers with a fully refundable 30% tax credit — and that’s just the beginning. An additional 5% (increasing to 10% starting in 2015) is available for post-production costs incurred outside the immediate New York City area.
